Acrylic Nails Nail Polish Remover

How to Remove Acrylic Nails at Home Without Damaging Your Real Nails

Step 1: Trim the Nails

Use nail clippers to trim down the acrylic nails as short as possible without cutting into your natural nails. This will make it easier to remove the rest of the acrylic later on.

Step 2: Soak in Acetone

Create a small bowl filled with 100% pure acetone. Dip your nails into the acetone and soak them for 10-15 minutes. The acetone will help to dissolve the acrylic.

Step 3: Use a Nail Pusher

After the acrylic has softened, use a nail pusher or cuticle pusher to gently push the acrylic off of your natural nails. Be careful not to apply too much pressure, as this could damage your natural nails.

Step 4: File and Buff

Once the acrylic has been removed, use a fine-grit file to gently file away any remaining glue or residue. You can also use a nail buffer to smooth out your natural nails and restore their shine.

Tips for Success

  • Use pure acetone. Other nail polish removers may not be strong enough to dissolve the acrylic.
  • Soak your nails for the full 10-15 minutes. This will give the acetone time to work its way through the acrylic.
  • Be gentle when using the nail pusher. Applying too much pressure could damage your natural nails.
  • File and buff your natural nails gently. Over-filing or over-buffing could weaken your nails.
